Removal & Disassembly
- Raise and support vehicle on safety stands. Allow front suspension to hang free. Remove front wheels. Remove brake hose "E" clip and brake hose from bracket. Disconnect ABS wheel speed sensor connector, and remove harness retainer from lower strut bracket. Remove strut-to-steering knuckle bolts and nuts. While holding strut by hand, remove strut upper mounting nuts. Remove strut.
- Using a spring compressor, compress strut spring until strut rod nut extends about .5" (13 mm) above stopper. NEVER
bottom out spring. Remove strut rod nut. Disassemble strut assembly, noting position of assembled parts for reassembly. See Fig 1
