DTC 88 - Red Brake Warning Light Circuit Shorted To Battery: Notes
NOTE:
For circuit and connector terminal identification, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
.
EBCM identifies a short to battery between the EBCM and the BRAKE light or an open driver that does not allow the BRAKE light to be illuminated by the EBCM. This will only occur if an ABS fault is detected that may degrade base brake performance.
NOTE:
Test numbers refer to test numbers on diagnostic chart.
- Identifies if the ground circuit to the BRAKE light is being completed by a source other than the EBCM.
- Identifies if the malfunction is currently present.
- By removing the IG fuse, the voltage source is eliminated. This test indicates if voltage is being supplied from a source other than the IG fuse.
- Checks for DTC 86 also being set.
