DTC 38 - Left Front ESB Will Not Hold Motor: Notes
NOTE:
For circuit and connector terminal identification, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
.
EBCM monitors ESB for slippage. During initialization and braking, motor is re-homed. If ESB slips, motor/piston will move. During the next ignition initialization, a re-home of the motor verifies motor/piston remained at home position. If motor movement is detected, ESB must be slipping.
NOTE:
Test numbers refer to test numbers on diagnostic chart.
- Checks ESB. A broken or defective ESB would result in the left front piston being back-driven by hydraulic pressure and pedal movement would result.
- Checks for high resistance in motor high circuit.
- Checks for high resistance in motor low circuit.
- Checks for high resistance in motor.
- Determines if fault is due to poor terminal contact or corrosion.
- Determines if fault is due to faulty EBCM.
