DTC 18: Wheel Speed Sensor Or Rotor, Or Abs Hydraulic Unit

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Turn ignition off and remove all wheel speed sensors. Check for dirt or foreign material around speed sensor and rotor. Check for physical damage on sensor and rotor. Rotor should not be eccentric and rotor serrations (teeth) should not be damaged or missing. Ensure wheel bearings are free of excessive play. Adjust, repair or replace components as necessary. If all wheel speed sensors are okay, go to next step.
  2. Reinstall wheel speed sensors and tighten retaining bolt to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Ensure sensors mount flush with mounting surface. Replace any sensor that has clearance between sensor and mounting surface. If sensors are okay, go to next step.
  3. Check output voltage of each wheel speed sensor. See appropriate WHEEL SPEED SENSOR under COMPONENT TESTS  . Replace any faulty sensor(s). If sensors are okay, go to next step.
  4. Check ABS hydraulic unit operation. See ABS HYDRAULIC UNIT OPERATION CHECK  under COMPONENT TESTS. Replace hydraulic unit if faulty. If hydraulic unit is okay, substitute a known-good ABS control module assembly and repeat test.
