Cylinder Head: Installation
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Use NEW head and manifold gaskets. Tighten cylinder head bolts to 39 ft. lbs (53 N.m) using proper sequence. See Fig 1.
- Increase cylinder head bolt torque to 62 ft. lbs (84 N.m) using proper sequence. Now LOOSEN all bolts until torque is reduced to zero (0). See Figure
- Now tighten cylinder head bolts to 27 ft. lbs (37 N.m) using proper sequence. See Fig 1. Finish tightening cylinder head bolts to 77 ft. lbs. (105 N.m). Tighten the 6-mm bolt on side of cylinder head to 97 INCH lbs. (11 N.m).
