Removal & Installation

  1. Remove ABS actuator assembly. See ABS ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY  . Remove under cover mounting bolts and under cover. Remove hydraulic modulator/motor pack mounting bolts and separate hydraulic modulator/motor pack from ABS actuator.
  2. Exercise care in handling hydraulic modulator/motor pack assembly to ensure motor pack connector is not damaged and brake fluid does not enter motor pack assembly. Replace motor pack assembly if dropped or damaged during handling. If separation of ABS actuator and hydraulic modulator/motor pack assembly was due to an ABS hydraulic functional test failure, perform AUTOMATED MOTOR PACK DIAGNOSIS TEST at this time to isolate motor pack or ABS actuator using Tech 1 or Suzuki scan tool. Refer to scan tool operator's manual.
  3. To install, reverse removal procedure. With ABS actuator upside down with gears facing you, rotate each gear counterclockwise until movement stops. This will position pistons very close to top of modulator bore, simplifying brake bleeding procedure. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM  . Tighten all fasteners to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
