DTC 55: EBCM Malfunction

  1. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, read DTCs. If DTC 55 is currently set, go to next step. If DTC 55 is not currently set, system is functioning correctly. See INTERMITTENT OR POOR CONNECTIONS  .
  2. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. Test drive vehicle for 3 drive cycles. If DTC 55 resets, replace EBCM. If DTC 55 does not reset, system is functioning correctly. See INTERMITTENT OR POOR CONNECTIONS  .
