Diagnostic Procedure
- Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, command ABS enable relay off using relay test function. If scan tool indicates that ABS enable relay is off and battery voltage is less than 5 volts, system is currently functioning correctly. See INTERMITTENT OR POOR CONNECTIONS . If scan tool does not indicate that ABS enable relay is off and battery voltage is less than 5 volts, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect both EBCM harness connectors. Turn ignition switch on. Measure voltage between ground and 2-pin EBCM harness connector terminal No. 1 (White wire). If voltage is less than 2 volts, go to step 5 . If voltage is not less than 2 volts, go to next step.
- Measure voltage between battery positive terminal and 32-pin EBCM harness connector terminal No. 22 (Yellow/Blue wire). If voltage is less than 2 volts, go to next step. If voltage is not less than 2 volts, repair Yellow/Blue wire for short to ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Remove ABS enable relay. See Figure . Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and 2-pin EBCM harness connector terminal No. 1 (White wire). If voltage is less than 2 volts, replace ABS enable relay. If voltage is not less than 2 volts, repair White wire for short to voltage. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Reconnect both EBCM harness connectors. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING. Using scan tool, command ABS enable relay off using relay test function. If scan tool indicates that ABS enable relay is off and battery voltage is less than 2 volts, system is currently functioning correctly. See INTERMITTENT OR POOR CONNECTIONS . If scan tool does not indicate that ABS enable relay is off and battery voltage is less than 2 volts, replace EBCM.
