Using Voltmeter Or ABS Warning Light
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Perform ABS bulb check. See ABS WARNING LIGHT CHECK . If ABS warning light does not operate as described, go to appropriate test under TROUBLE SHOOTING . If ABS warning light is okay, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Locate Black diagnostic connector No. 2 on left side of engine compartment. Using a jumper wire, connect diagnostic switch terminal to ground terminal of diagnostic connector No. 2. See Figure .
- If using an analog voltmeter, connect voltmeter positive probe to positive battery terminal and negative probe to diagnostic output terminal. See Figure .
- Turn ignition on. Watch voltmeter for needle deflection and count needle sweeps. If using ABS warning light, read and record flashes of ABS warning light. See Fig 1 . Each DTC is repeated 3 times.
- If a fault is indicated, go to appropriate DTC circuit test. See ABS DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE INDEX table. If no DTCs are output, go to TEST D: NO OUTPUT FROM DIAGNOSTIC CONNECTOR under TROUBLE SHOOTING. After recording all DTCs, turn ignition off and remove jumper wire. Disconnect analog voltmeter probes, if used.
