WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1996 Suzuki X-90. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Drive vehicle for at least 2 minutes at 35 MPH or greater. While revving engine, observe HO2S No. 1 parameter on scan tool. If display reading varies at or over 0.45 volt, check for an intermittent problem. See appropriate TESTS W/O CODES article. If display reading is not as specified, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect HO2S No. 1 sensor harness connector. Using a voltmeter, measure voltage between terminals No. 1 and 2 of HO2S No. 1 harness connector while repeatedly revving engine. See Figure. If reading is 0.45 volt or more, go to next step. If reading is not as specified, replace HO2S No. 1. Retest system.
  3. Check Red/Blue wire of HO2S No. 1 harness for short to ground. Repair as necessary. If wire is okay, replace PCM. Retest system.
