DTC P0758: No. 2 Shift Solenoid Circuit Fault: Notes
NOTE:
DTC P0758 will set when voltage detected at TCM terminal No. 11 is 2 volts or less when No. 2 shift solenoid is on, or 5.5 volts or greater when off.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect TCM harness connector. Using a DVOM, measure resistance between ground and TCM harness connector terminal No. 11 (Green/Red wire). If resistance is 11-15 ohms at room temperature, go to step 4). If resistance is not as specified, go to next step.
- Disconnect No. 2 shift solenoid harness connector closest to transmission. Using a DVOM, measure resistance between ground and TCM harness connector terminal No. 11 (Green/Red wire). If resistance is less than 2 ohms, repair Green/Red wire for a short to ground between TCM and No. 2 shift solenoid. If resistance is not as specified, go to next step.
- Using a DVOM, measure resistance in Green/Red wire between TCM harness connector terminal No. 11 and harness connector which was disconnected in step 2). If resistance is less than 2 ohms, remove transmission oil pan and inspect internal wire harness for damage. Repair as necessary. If harness is okay, replace No. 2 shift solenoid. If resistance is not as specified, repair open in Green/Red wire between TCM and No. 2 shift solenoid.
- Turn ignition on. Using a DVOM, measure voltage between ground and TCM harness connector terminal No. 11 (Green/Red wire). If reading is less than one volt, go to next step. If reading is not as specified, repair Green/Red wire for a short to power between TCM and No. 2 shift solenoid.
- Inspect all harness connectors for poor connections. Repair as necessary and retest system. If harness connections are okay, go to next step.
- Reconnect TCM harness connector. Clear DTCs. See CLEARING TROUBLE CODES under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Road test vehicle and recheck for DTCs. If DTC P0758 resets, replace TCM. If DTC P0758 does not reset, fault is not present at this time. Check for an intermittent problem. See DIAGNOSTIC AIDS.
