April 5, 2026: LEMON Manuals is launched! Read the announcement.

Diagnostic Procedure

  1. If DTC 56/61/64 occurs intermittently, see INTERMITTENT OR POOR CONNECTIONS  . If DTC 56/61/64 is currently set, turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Disconnect 6-pin ABS actuator harness connector. If left front motor is suspect, measure resistance between ABS actuator terminals No. 1 and 2. If right front motor is suspect, measure resistance between ABS actuator terminals No. 5 and 6. If rear motor is suspect, measure resistance between ABS actuator terminals No. 3 and 4. If resistance is less than 2000 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not less than 2000 ohms, replace motor pack.
  2. Disconnect 32-pin EBCM harness connector. If left front motor is suspect (DTC 56), measure resistance of Light Green wire between 32-pin EBCM harness connector terminal No. 9 and 6-pin ABS actuator harness connector terminal No. 1. If right front motor is suspect (DTC 61), measure resistance of Brown wire between 32-pin EBCM harness connector terminal No. 1 and 6-pin ABS actuator harness connector terminal No. 5. If rear motor is suspect (DTC 64), measure resistance of Pink wire between 32-pin EBCM harness connector terminal No. 32 and 6-pin ABS actuator harness connector terminal No. 3. If resistance is 2 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is not 2 ohms or less, repair open or high resistance in identified circuit (Light Green, Brown or Pink wires). See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
  3. If left front motor is suspect (DTC 47) measure resistance of Light Green/Black wire between 32-pin EBCM harness connector terminal No. 7 and 6-pin ABS actuator harness connector terminal No. 2. If right front motor is suspect (DTC 48), measure resistance of Brown/Black wire between 32-pin EBCM harness connector terminal No. 17 and 6-pin ABS actuator harness connector terminal No. 6. If rear motor is suspect, measure resistance of Pink/Black wire between 32-pin EBCM harness connector terminal No. 16 and 6-pin ABS actuator harness connector terminal No. 4. If resistance is 2 ohms or less, check for corrosion and poor terminal contact at 32-pin EBCM harness connector and 6-pin ABS actuator harness connector. If terminal contact and connectors are okay, replace EBCM. If resistance is not 2 ohms or less, repair open or high resistance in identified circuit (Light Green/Black, Brown/Black or Pink/Black wires). See WIRING DIAGRAMS  .
