Wheel Speed Sensor
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Suzuki Sidekick. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The 2-wire rear wheel speed sensor is mounted in rear differential carrier. Sensor transmits wheel speed information to RWAL ECM. This low AC voltage signal is generated through magnetic induction when a toothed exciter ring inside differential passes the stationary magnetic coil of sensor. This voltage signal increases in both frequency and amplitude as rear wheel speed increases.
