Brake Warning Light

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Suzuki Sidekick. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

As a bulb check, the BRAKE warning light will turn on when ignition switch is turned to BULB CHECK position. Light should go out when ignition switch is turned to ON position. BRAKE light will also illuminate if parking brake lever is not fully released or if brake fluid level is low.

If RWAL system malfunctions, RWAL ECM will turn on BRAKE warning light and disable anti-lock function. BRAKE warning light is used to retrieve stored malfunction codes from RWAL system by jumpering appropriate terminals of diagnostic connector. See RETRIEVING CODES  under DIAGNOSIS & TESTING.
