DTC P1510 - ECM Backup Power Supply Malfunction

  1. Turn ignition on. Using a voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and PCM harness connector "C", terminal No. 1 (White wire). See Figure . If reading is 10-14 volts, check for poor connections at PCM. If connections are okay, replace PCM. If reading is not as specified, check for blown 15-amp TAIL fuse or blown 80-amp and 30-amp MAIN fuses. If fuses are okay, go to next step. If fuses are blown, check for short circuit and repair as necessary. Retest system.
  2. Check for open White wire between PCM and fuse box. Check for open White/Yellow wire between fuse box in passenger compartment and relay/fuse box in engine compartment. Repair as necessary. If wires are okay, check for an intermittent problem. See TESTS W/O CODES article.
