Flash Code Method
- Ensure O/D cut switch is in OFF (depressed) position. Turn ignition on. If OD/OFF indicator illuminates for about 2 seconds, go to next step. If OD/OFF indicator does not illuminate, go to OD/OFF INDICATOR DOES NOT ILLUMINATE . If OD/OFF indicator remains illuminated, go to OD/OFF INDICATOR REMAINS ILLUMINATED . If OD/OFF indicator flashes, go to OD/OFF INDICATOR FLASHES .
- Using a fused jumper wire, jumper ground terminal of diagnostic connector No. 1 to diagnosis switch terminal of diagnostic connector No. 2, located in engine compartment relay box. See Fig 1. If OD/OFF indicator flashes a DTC, record and identify DTC. See DTC IDENTIFICATION . If OD/OFF indicator does not respond, check for an open in diagnosis switch terminal circuit (Green/Red wire). Repair as necessary. If wire is okay, substitute TCM with a known-good unit. Retest system.
