DTC P1460 - Radiator Cooling Fan Control System Malfunction

  1. Turn ignition on. Using a voltmeter, measure voltage (backprobe) between ground and PCM connector "A", terminal No. 20 when coolant temperature is less than 200°F (93°C). If reading is 10-14 volts, check for an intermittent problem. See TESTS W/O CODES article. If reading is not as specified, go to next step.
  2. Turn ignition off. Remove radiator cooling fan relay located in engine compartment relay/fuse box. Using an ohmmeter, measure resistance between terminals No. 3 and 4 of relay. See Figure . If resistance is 70-110 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, replace relay. Retest system.
  3. Check Black/White wire or Purple/Green wire for an open or short. Repair as necessary. If wires are okay, replace PCM. Retest system.
