DTC P0745: Throttle Pressure Control Solenoid: Notes
NOTE:
DTC P0745 will set if throttle pressure control solenoid or its circuit is open or shorted.
- Turn ignition off. Place gear selector lever in "P" position. Turn ignition on. Using a DVOM, measure voltage (backprobe) between TCM harness connector E26, terminals No. 1 (Gray/Black wire), and No. 2 (Black/Red wire). Observe DVOM as accelerator pedal is depressed. If voltage decreases as throttle opens, check for an intermittent problem or faulty TCM. See DIAGNOSTIC AIDS . If voltage did not decrease, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect throttle pressure control solenoid harness connector at transaxle. Using a DVOM, measure resistance between solenoid terminals, then measure resistance between transaxle case and specified solenoid terminal. See Figure. If resistance is 3.3-3.7 ohms at 68°F (20°C) between terminals, and infinity between transaxle case and solenoid terminal, go to next step. If resistance is not as specified, solenoid or lead wire is faulty. Repair as necessary.
- Check Gray/Red wire or Gray/Black wire between solenoid and TCM for an open or short to ground. Repair as necessary, If wires are okay, substitute TCM with a known-good unit. Retest system.
