Shift Solenoids

  1. Using a DVOM, measure resistance between solenoid body and terminal of solenoid. Resistance should be 11-15 ohms at 68°F (20°C). Replace solenoid if resistance is not as specified.
  2. Using an appropriate oiler (squirt can), apply ATF to oil feed hole of solenoid. See Figure. ATF should not flow from solenoid. Using fused jumper wires, apply battery voltage to solenoid terminal, and ground to solenoid body. ATF should exhaust from solenoid. Replace solenoid if operation is not as specified.
