Section 32 (Diagnosis - 4-Speed): Operation: TCM
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Suzuki Esteem. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The TCM receives information from various input devices and uses this information to control shift solenoids No. 1 and 2 on transaxle valve body for transaxle shifting, and control TCC solenoid for torque converter lock-up.
The TCM contains a self-diagnostic system which will store a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) if a malfunction is detected in the electronic control system. DTCs can be retrieved to determine problem area. See SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM . TCM is located under instrument panel, to left of steering column.
