O/D Cut Switch

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1995 Suzuki Esteem. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The O/D cut switch (mounted on shift lever) provides an input signal to TCM to indicate when overdrive is selected by vehicle operator. When O/D cut switch is depressed to ON position with shift lever in "D" range, transaxle will upshift into OD, and OD/OFF indicator on instrument cluster will turn off. When O/D cut switch is released to OFF position, transaxle will downshift into 3rd gear, and OD/OFF indicator will illuminate.
