Countershaft Assembly: Disassembly

  1. Using a split plate and press, press off LH bearing and 4th gear. See Figure. Press off 3rd and 4th gear spacer with countershaft 3rd gear and 2nd gear from countershaft. Remove 2nd synchronizer ring and snap ring.
  2. Using a split plate and press, press off low speed synchronizer sleeve and hub with 1st gear. Remove needle bearing. Press off 1st and second gear bearing from countershaft.
  3. Remove low speed sleeve and synchronizer spring from low speed hub. Remove 1st and 2nd gear bearing from countershaft. Press off RH countershaft bearing.
