Clutch Assembly: Installation

  1. Ensure all bolts are clean. Position clutch disc onto flywheel, with damper springs facing outward. Retain disc in place with clutch aligner. If reusing pressure plate, position pressure plate over clutch disc and align marks made at removal.
  2. Tighten pressure plate and flywheel bolts evenly in a crisscross pattern. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . Remove clutch aligner. Lightly coat input shaft splines with lithium grease.
  3. Install transaxle assembly by aligning input shaft through clutch disc splines. Align clutch housing onto engine guide pins. Install and tighten clutch housing bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  . To complete installation, reverse removal procedure.
