See Figure. If test light does not come on at any terminal, go to step 9). If test light does come on for any terminal, replace TR switch and retest system.
- Using a test light connected to ground, backprobe TR switch harness connector terminal No. 1 (Red wire). See Fig 1. If test light comes on, repair open in Red wire between TR switch and TCM. If test light does not come on, replace TR switch and retest system.
- Place gear selector in "N" position. Using a test light connected to ground, backprobe TCM 10-pin harness connector terminal No. 9 (Orange/Yellow wire). See Figure. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, go to step 11).
- Using a test light connected to ground, backprobe TCM 10-pin harness connector terminals No. 2 (Red wire), No. 5 (Green wire), No. 6 (Green/Red wire), No. 7 (Green/Blue wire) and No. 8 (Orange/Black wire), one at a time. See Figure. If test light does not come on at any terminal, go to step 12). If test light does come on at any terminal, replace TR switch and retest system.
- Using a test light connected to ground, backprobe TR switch harness connector terminal No. 10 (Orange/Yellow wire). See Fig 1. If test light comes on, repair open in Orange/Yellow wire between TR switch and TCM. If test light does not come on, replace TR switch and retest system.
- Place gear selector in "D" position. Using a test light connected to ground, backprobe TCM 10-pin harness connector terminal No. 6 (Green/Red wire). See Figure. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, go to step 14).
- Using a test light connected to ground, backprobe TCM 10-pin harness connector terminals No. 2 (Red wire), No. 5 (Green wire), No. 7 (Green/Blue wire), No. 8 (Orange/Black wire) and No. 9 (Orange/Yellow wire), one at a time. See Figure. If test light does not come on at any terminal, go to step 15). If test light does come on at any terminal, replace TR switch and retest system.
- Using a test light connected to ground, backprobe TR switch harness connector terminal No. 2 (Green/Red wire). See Fig 1. If test light comes on, repair open in Green/Red wire between TR switch and TCM. If test light does not come on, replace TR switch and retest system.
- Place gear selector in "2" position. Using a test light connected to ground, backprobe TCM 10-pin harness connector terminal No. 5 (Green wire). See Figure. If test light comes on, go to next step. If test light does not come on, go to step 17).
