UNDEPLOYED Air Bag

Undeployed inflator modules must not be disposed of through normal refuse channels. Undeployed inflator modules contain chemicals which will cause illness or injury if handled improperly. Failure to dispose of an inflator module in proper manner may be a violation of federal, state, and local laws. Whenever possible, deploy inflator module while it is installed in vehicle. See SCRAPPED VEHICLE .

Transportation of undeployed inflator modules is regulated by hazardous materials regulations of Department of Transportation (DOT) and most state governments. Repair shops should contact hazardous materials department of their state government for applicable shipping and disposal requirements.
