Trouble Codes

SDM stores two types of Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). Current DTCs represent malfunctions which are present at time of diagnosis. Historic DTCs represent system failures which occurred since last time SDM memory was erased, but which are not present at time of diagnosis. DTCs may be recovered from SDM by using Tech-1 scan tool equipped with an updated cartridge. Updated cartridge allows scan tool to communicate with SDM through data link connector.
