SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK is always first step in diagnosing SIR system. See SIR DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under TESTING - DIAGNOSTIC. Purpose of this check is to verify that AIR BAG warning lamp is functioning properly and to read any DTCs that may be stored in SDM. Be sure to follow diagnostic procedures. Skipping steps could lead to unnecessary parts replacement, extended diagnosis time, and personal injury.
