Canister Purge Valve
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect canister purge valve connector. On Swift with tank pressure control solenoid vacuum valve, canister purge valve is located at front of engine near rear of timing belt cover. On Swift without tank pressure control solenoid vacuum valve, canister purge valve is located at rear of intake manifold to right of throttle body.
- Using ohmmeter, check resistance between terminals of canister purge valve connector. If resistance is not 33-39 ohms, replace canister purge valve. If resistance is 33-39 ohms, disconnect vacuum hoses from canister purge valve. Connect short section of hose to either port of canister purge valve. Blow through hose. Air should not pass through canister purge valve.
- Apply battery voltage to White/Blue wire terminal and ground to other wire terminal. Blow through hose. Air should pass through canister purge valve. If canister purge valve does not test as specified, replace canister purge valve.
