Countershaft Assembly: Inspection

Check all components for wear, broken teeth or cracks. Replace if necessary. Inspect synchronizer assemblies and measure clearance between ring and gear. See Figure. Standard clearance is .039-.055" (1.0-1.4 mm). Replace if less than .020" (.50 mm).
