Sir Diagnostic System Check

This check is always the first step in diagnosing SIR system faults. Its purpose is to verify that AIR BAG warning lamp is functioning properly, to read DTCs from SDM, to direct technician to proper diagnostic chart, and to verify that repairs have been performed properly and completely. To minimize diagnosis time, it is important to follow diagnostic charts accurately.

WARNING: To avoid air bag deployment and injury when trouble shooting system, only use test equipment specified in diagnostic charts. Under no circumstances should battery powered test equipment or test light be used. Carefully follow all instructions.
