DTC 58 - Left Front Motor Circuit Shorted To Battery: Notes

NOTE: For circuit and connector terminal identification, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  .

EBCM can detect a motor circuit that is shorted to battery or a motor that has low or no resistance. This malfunction will not allow the motor to be controlled at the commanded current rate or will cause the motor to turn in the opposite direction or not at all.

NOTE: Test numbers refer to test numbers on diagnostic chart.
  1. Checks for a short to voltage in the motor high circuit.
  2. Checks for a short to voltage in the motor low circuit.
  3. Checks for a motor that is internally shorted. Tester J 39200 is a DVOM with a 10-megohm input impedance.
