Removal & Installation

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Disable air bag system. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT section. Remove console glove box. Remove glove box and steering column access hole cover. Disconnect harness connectors and control cables from heater case and blower case.
  2. Disconnect steering column harness connectors. Remove steering column coupler and toe plate at floor. Remove steering column-to-instrument panel bolts. Remove steering column.
  3. Disconnect speedometer cable. Remove instrument cluster mounting screws. Disconnect harness connectors and remove instrument cluster. Remove hood latch. Remove instrument panel mounting screws. Remove instrument panel. To install, reverse removal procedure.
