UNDEPLOYED Air Bag

Undeployed inflator modules must not be disposed of at normal refuse locations. Undeployed inflator modules contain substances which can cause illness or injury if handled improperly. Disposal of inflator module in any manner inconsistent with proper procedures may be a violation of federal, state, and/or local laws. If possible, deploy inflator module in vehicle. See SCRAPPED VEHICLE  .

Transportation of undeployed inflator modules is regulated by hazardous materials regulations of Department of Transportation (DOT) and most state governments. Special shipping procedures are required. Repair shops should check with hazardous material section of their respective state governments for applicable shipping requirements.
