Differential Switch

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 1998 Suzuki X-90, 1998 Suzuki Sidekick, 1997 Suzuki X-90, 1997 Suzuki Sidekick, and 1996 Suzuki X-90. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Differential switch is integral part of ABS actuator assembly. When a failure occurs in either front or rear brake line, differential switch detects difference in pressure between front and rear circuits and turns on brake warning light indicator in instrument cluster (combination meter). ABS system will be disabled and ABS warning light will then be turned on. After repair of brake system, depressing brake pedal will apply pressure equally at both brake circuits and differential switch will automatically reset.
