DTC 10: Stoplight Switch On Constantly

  1. This condition is detected only while driving at speeds greater than 37.5 MPH. Stop vehicle and apply parking brake. Check stop lights. If stop lights are off, go to next step. If stop lights are on, check wiring for short to voltage. If wiring is okay, replace stop light switch.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect RWAL ECM connector. Turn ignition on. Depress brake pedal. Measure voltage between RWAL ECM harness connector terminal No. 8 and ground. See Fig 1. If reading is 10-15 volts, replace RWAL ECM. If reading is less than 10-15 volts, repair short in Green/White wire between stoplight switch and RWAL ECM.
