Disabling & Activating Air Bag System: Prizm

  1. Ensure front wheels face straight ahead. Turn ignition switch to LOCK. Remove IGN fuse, and CIG and RADIO fuse from junction block. See Fig 1. Remove Connector Position Assurance (CPA) clip and disconnect Yellow 2-pin SIR lower steering column connector. See Fig 2.
  2. Open glove box door. Carefully pry off passenger inflator module connector retainer. See Fig 3. Remove Connector Position Assurance (CPA) clip and disconnect Yellow 2-pin SIR passenger inflator module connector.
  3. To activate SIR system, turn ignition switch to LOCK position. Connect 2-pin connector and CPA clip at base of steering column and behind glove box. Install IGN, CIG and RADIO fuses to junction block. Turn ignition switch to ACC or ON and ensure air bag indicator illuminates steady for approximately 6 seconds, then turns off.
