EGR Solenoid Vacuum Valve
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect connector from vacuum valve. Turn ignition on and then off. Check resistance between vacuum valve terminals. If resistance is not 30-39 ohms at 68°F (20°C), replace EGR solenoid vacuum valve.
- Disconnect upper and lower hoses from vacuum valve. Connect short section of hose to lower horizontal port of vacuum valve. Blow air through hose connected to vacuum valve. Air should exit through filter, not other port.
- If air exits through other port, replace EGR solenoid vacuum valve. If air exits through filter, energize solenoid by applying battery voltage to one terminal and ground to other terminal. Solenoid should click. Blow air through hose connected to solenoid. Air should now exit through other port and not through filter. If test is not as specified, replace EGR solenoid vacuum valve.
