Overdrive/Coast Clutch: Reassembly
- Apply ATF to "O" rings and position on pistons. Pushing by hand, set coast clutch piston to overdrive clutch piston. Press overdrive clutch and coast clutch pistons into overdrive clutch drum.
- Using an appropriate press, install piston return spring and secure with snap ring. Select appropriate coast clutch flange to obtain correct piston stroke. Clutch flanges are available in 3 sizes and range in thickness from .142-.157" (3.61-3.99 mm).
- Install flanges, discs and plate in the following order: flange, disc, plate, disc and flange. Secure with snap ring, ensuring open end does not align with grooved section of clutch drum.
- Install overdrive clutch apply tube. Select appropriate overdrive clutch flange to obtain correct piston stroke. Clutch flanges are available in 3 sizes and range in thickness from .142-.157" (3.61-3.99 mm).
- Install flanges, discs and plate in the following order: flange, disc, plate, disc and flange. Secure with snap ring, ensuring open end does not align with grooved section of clutch drum.
- Install forward clutch assembly and overdrive direct multiple "D" clutch assembly into transaxle rear cover. Measure overdrive and coast clutch piston strokes as in PRELIMINARY CHECK
