Component Disassembly & Reassembly: Differential: Installation
- Using appropriate bearing driver, drive bearing outer race and washer into transaxle case. Install differential assembly into transaxle case. Tighten case bolts to 22 ft. lbs. (30 N.m).
- Using an INCH lb. torque wrench and Preload Adapter (09928-06050), measure differential preload (starting torque). See Fig 3
. Specified preload is 12 INCH lbs. (1.4 N.m). If preload exceed s specification, select appropriate selective washer for both transaxle case and housing.
- Selective washers are available from .083-.114" (2.10-2.90 mm) in .002" (.05 mm) increments. Preload changes about 3-4 INCH lbs. (.3-.5 N.m) with each washer thickness. Install differential side oil seal.
