TCM Power & Ground Circuit

NOTE: Perform the following procedure if OD/OFF indicator does not illuminate with ignition switch in ON position, and transaxle does not shift to 1st gear at vehicle start with gear selector lever in "D" position.
  1. Turn ignition on. Using a DVOM, measure voltage (backprobe) between ground and TCM harness connector terminal A15 (Black/White wire). If reading is 10-14 volts, go to next step. If reading is not as specified, repair open in Black/White wire between TCM and circuit fuses.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect PCM and TCM harness connectors. Using a DVOM, check for continuity between ground and TCM harness connector terminal A12 (Black/Red wire). If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, repair open in Black/Red wire.
  3. Check for poor TCM harness connections at terminal A15 (Black/White wire) or terminal A12 (Black/Red wire). Repair as necessary. If no problem is found, replace TCM with a known-good unit. Retest system.
