Shift Point Test
- Engine and transmission must be at normal operating temperature. Road test vehicle with gear selector lever in "D" position. Ensure all upshifts and downshifts occur at specified shift points. See SHIFT POINT SPECIFICATIONS
table.
- Ensure lock-up occurs at appropriate speeds. Refer to the LOCK-UP SPEED SPECIFICATIONS
table. Lightly depress accelerator pedal. If excessive increase in engine RPM is present, lock-up will not occur.
- Check for shock and slippage at all upshifts. Check for abnormal noise and vibration. While driving in "D", "2" and "L" gear positions, ensure speeds at OD-3, 3-2 and 2-1 kickdown are within specification. Check for shock and slippage at kickdown.
