Reverse Clutch: Reassembly
- Apply ATF to "O" rings and install onto reverse clutch piston. Press reverse clutch piston into clutch drum. Using an appropriate press, install reverse clutch return spring into clutch drum and secure with snap ring.
- Install clutch discs and plates in the following order: plate, disc, plate and disc. Install sun gear input flange and secure with snap ring. Measure reverse clutch pack clearance as noted in PRELIMINARY INSPECTION under REVERSE CLUTCH
.
- Remove reverse clutch from oil pump body. Remove snap ring and sun gear input flange. Apply grease to thrust needle roller bearing and race and install onto input shaft.
- Install input shaft onto reverse clutch drum. Install sun gear input flange with snap ring. Apply grease to thrust washer and install onto reverse clutch assembly. Apply grease to remaining thrust needle roller bearing and race and install onto reverse clutch assembly.
