Diagnostic Testing: Notes

When trouble shooting the transmission, first check for stored trouble codes. Before diagnosing any trouble codes, perform the TCU DIAGNOSTIC CIRCUIT CHECK  . Repair as needed. If no trouble codes exist, perform manual shifting test to determine if problem area is in electrical circuits or a mechanical transmission problem. Refer to the MANUAL SHIFTING TEST  under TRANSMISSION SHIFT TESTING.
