Valve Body: Disassembly

  1. Remove lower valve body cover bolts. Remove lower valve body cover and gasket. Remove direct clutch and 2nd band solenoids from valve body. See Figure .
  2. Remove 16 bolts from upper valve body. Carefully remove upper valve body from lower valve body. DO NOT  allow 4 steel check balls to drop out. Remove valve body gaskets. See Figure .
  3. All valve body components must be installed in original location. Lay all components out in sequence during removal for reassembly reference. Note diameter and check ball location. See Figure .
