Ball Joint Checking

Raise and support vehicle, allowing front suspension to hang free. Hold tire at top and bottom. Move top of tire in and out. Horizontal or vertical movement should not exist at ball joint. Disconnect ball joint from steering knuckle. If looseness exists in joint or ball stud can be turned by hand, replace ball joint.
