Steering Wheel & Horn Pad: Removal

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. On Swift GT, remove horn pad by turning horn pad counterclockwise while pressing down, until it stops. On all other models, pull horn pad upward and away from steering wheel to remove.
  2. On all models, remove steering wheel upper and lower covers or bumper (if equipped) and disconnect horn wire. Remove steering wheel nut. Make reference marks on steering wheel and steering shaft for installation reference. Use Steering Wheel Puller (09944-36010 or 09944-36011) to remove steering wheel from steering shaft. DO NOT strike steering shaft to dislodge steering wheel.
