Code 8, Shorted Dump Solenoid Circuit

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect pressure limit valve connector. Measure resistance between limit valve terminals No. 3 and 4. See Figure .
  2. If resistance is less than one ohm, replace pressure limit valve. If resistance is 1-3 ohms, disconnect RWAL ECM connector. Measure resistance between ECM harness connector terminal No. 9 and ground.
  3. If resistance is more than 20 k/ohms, replace RWAL ECM. If resistance is less than 20 k/ohms, repair short to ground in White/Green wire of harness.
