Code 11, Shorted Wheel Speed Sensor

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect speed sensor connector and measure resistance across sensor terminals. If resistance is less than 1000 ohms, replace speed sensor.
  2. If resistance is 1000-2000 ohms, disconnect RWAL ECM connector. Leave speed sensor disconnected. Measure resistance between ECM terminal No. 16 and ground. See Figure . Repair short to ground in Orange wire if resistance is less than 20 k/ohms.
  3. If resistance is more than 20 k/ohms, measure resistance between RWAL ECM terminals No. 16 and 17. If resistance is more than 20 k/ohms, replace RWAL ECM. Repair short between Orange and White wires in speed sensor harness if resistance is less than 20 k/ohms.
