Ignition Switch & Column Lock: Installation

Line up oblong hole of steering shaft with center of steering column hole. Turn ignition to ACC or ON position and install steering lock assembly onto column.
Turn ignition key to LOCK position and remove key. Align hub on lock with oblong hole of steering shaft and rotate shaft to ensure steering shaft is locked. See Fig 1 and Fig 2 .
Install 2 NEW shear bolts. Tighten each bolt until head breaks off. Turn ignition key to ACC or ON position and rotate steering shaft, ensuring smooth movement. Check lock for proper operation.
Install steering wheel and steering column. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in the STEERING COLUMN article in the STEERING section.
