Pinion Shaft Operating Torque
- Connect Torque Check Socket (09944-18211) and INCH-lb. torque wrench to pinion shaft. Move pinion shaft through its entire operating range to right and left. Operating torque should be about 11 INCH lbs. (1.2 N.m).
- If operating torque is not within specification, recheck PINION SHAFT STARTING TORQUE. Recheck operating torque. If starting torque is correct and operating torque is not within specification, replace steering gear assembly.
